Default Reason behind flavour of the month

The reason so many people go with flavour of the month is that they know the strategy is fairly decent and reliable. This means that their vital skill points will be well spent on them skills. I would like to try out so many different combos with skills that would seem useful. Like most farming builds use zealots fire which would otherwise be deemed useless. Everytime I would want to try out a combo that means I have to farm mobs for exp so I can buy some skills which may not even work out as good as I thought. We definitely need UAS and runes. How does it add to the game that you have to farm for endless hours to unlock runes and all skills so you can get started on playing around with several skills and discovering good builds for PVP.

I dont know how an all necro team would do in tombs but i wanted to try it out but that means I must farm exp just to try something out which may not even work. People are inclined to just get the usual 8 skills which work fairly well, example : air ele spike teams if coordinated usually beat most unorganised teams. Some spells would only work with certain builds, eg fragility so people dont often unlock them because they want to save skill points.

I have completed the game whole way through, and I must say the last few missions were the most boring. Only highlight was doing abaddons mouth with 4 ppl after 4 left. Any PVE can be done if its taken cautiously with luring, but it takes much greater skill to play in PVP and I also find it more rewarding.

Basicly UAS and automatic rune unlocking would make much greater PVP as you would see much more different builds coming out and being tested. Yes in about 1 month I will have everything unlocked just annoying I have to spend time away from PVP just to farm so I can have more fun in PVP.

UAS isn't the only option and as others have pointed out it could release several bad effects quality-wise. It's just skill unlocking is so sad at the moment that something needs to be done to improve it.

I do agree with you on one point, attribute points should be free to adjust as we please. Thats the only point that you made that wont effect the game mechanics for both PvP and PvE ... however ...

I dont agree with you on UAS as 90% of the skills are extremely easily attainable ... (whats it take 3 days to get to fire isles?) something like 15 hours or so ... (skills are made to be attainable already)

Secondly I highly disagree with unlocking all runes ... just because you would like to have them available for PvP .. do you really want to drive the economy into a spiral and drop the games popularity to zero ... hello ... DAoC?
This game has 2 audiences and has found a good balance in its niche ...

If you can't make a team build based on non-elite (which are easily attainable) skills ... then you really should have a hard look at your own tactics ...

I do agree with you but I don't have the patience to wade into another pitched battle about this with the kind of people who are about to disagree with you.

people go with flavour of the month because they think it will make them win. In actual fact, by the time the builds have been posted the original creators are usually already using the counter or a better build.

I never said anything about elite skills. I said about the lack of skillpoints, I have completed the game, used all my points and am complaining about the need to farm exp or start a new char just to buy some skills to try out new tactics I think up. Runes would only be unlocked for PVP. Whoever is PVE ing properly is suffering because of farmers unlocking their needed stuff for PVP and selling on their extras or giving them away driving the prices of runes and items down.
